Impatiens walleriana / Busy Lizzie

Impatiens walleriana SUPER ELFIN ‘Bright Orange’ – These common summer flowers require no deadheading as they are self-cleaning. This SUPER ELFIN variety bears bright orange blooms from late spring through to frost and should not be over-fertilized as this causes stretched plants. Tolerates sun in coastal BC. Grows 8-10″ high by 12-14″ wide. Tender Annual.

Impatiens walleriana SUPER ELFIN XP ‘Deep Pink’ – This Impatiens bears large rosy-pink flowers that begin blooming early and continue right on through to fall. While the plants will keep flowering until the frosts you may want to remove them just before this as they disintegrate and are quite difficult to lift. Grows 8-10″ high by 12-14″ wide. Tender Annual.

Impatiens walleriana SUPER ELFIN XP ‘White’ – A great choice for filler plants in an Alba garden border but don’t try to rush these out too early in spring, as they resent those late albeit light frosts. The pure white blooms are nicely contrasted by the deep green foliage although they often cover the entire canopy. Grows 8 to 10″ high by 10 to 14″ wide. Tender Annual.

Impatiens walleriana ‘Accent Star Mix’ – A blend of red, burgundy, rose and violet flowers (up to 2″ wide) with each petal emblazoned with a central white streak, giving an overall star-like appearance. These heat tolerant plants makes nice accents in mixed containers or hanging baskets. Performs better with shade in hotter climates. Grows 10-12″ high and wide. Tender Annual.

Impatiens walleriana SUPER ELFIN XP ‘Red’ – This variety begins blooming about 8 to 10 weeks from seed. It bears intense, almost glow-in-the-dark red blooms (about 1.25″ wide) from spring to frost and prefers rich, evenly moist soils. It has good vigor with deep green foliage that forms a tight rounded plant. Grows 8-10″ high by 12-14″ wide. Tender Annual.
